Details-
The "MLA Local Area Development" scheme is implemented by the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, Government of Rajasthan. The scheme aims to construct public utility assets and undertake developmental works based on the recommendations of the local MLA to address local needs, reduce regional development imbalance, and promote self-reliance and confidence among communities. Every MLA may recommend eligible developmental works within the approved annual financial limit for their Assembly Constituency. The proposals are submitted to the District Council (Zila Parishad) and implemented according to the prescribed procedures. The annual allocation has been revised over time and is ₹5,00,00,000/- per MLA per financial year from 2021-22 onwards.
Eligibility -
- The applicant must be a Member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly (MLA).
- The applicant must submit proposals for developmental works within their own Assembly Constituency.
- The applicant must recommend only permissible public utility works and assets.
- The applicant must ensure that the proposed works are within the annual financial allocation prescribed under the scheme.
- The proposals must be submitted to the District Council (Zila Parishad) for implementation.
