Name of the scheme - Financial assistance for higher education (college education) to Sahariya tribe students

Objective-

               People of Sahariya tribe do not make their children study in higher education because the fees and stationery of higher classes are high and expensive and they are unable to afford the rent of urban house if they are sent out of their village, hence the department will provide financial assistance to every student studying regularly in the college through this scheme.

               The scheme will be operated by Commissionerate, College Education Department Rajasthan, Jaipur from the financial year 2023-24.

Eligibility-

  1. The student should belong to Sahariya tribe of Baran district of Rajasthan.
  2. The student should be studying regularly in a government college.
  3. The student's parents/guardians/guardians should not be income tax payers.
  4. The students who are studying in government-run hostels will not be entitled to the benefits under the said scheme.
  5. There should be a valid Janadhaar card and Aadhaar.
  6. The student should be a native of Rajasthan.

Benefits payable-

                          Under the scheme, Sahariya students are given Rs. 1000/- for purchasing stationery, Rs. 2000/- for college fees and Rs. 17000/- for monthly expenditure grant, house rent, food etc., totaling Rs. 20,000/-. In the colleges, BA/MA first year Rs. 20,000/-, second year Rs. 20,000/- and third year Rs. 20,000/- per student will be provided.

Necessary certificates/documents to be attached with the application-

Self-declaration of income in the prescribed format, certified by the competent level, regarding the student's parents/guardians/guardians/income tax payers.

Copy of the student's previous class mark sheet.

Fee receipt of the institution where the student is studying.

Application process-

  1. Application forms for financial assistance for higher education (college education) to tribal Sahariya students will be filled online.
  2. There is no fee for applying.
  3. Only those students who fulfill all the eligibility conditions should apply online.
  4. The online application forms will be thoroughly checked by the concerned college and the received online application forms will be sent to the approving nodal college.
  5. The approving officers will approve the applications received from the educational institutions online. Incomplete application forms (if any) will be reverted to the educational institutions/students.

Payment Process-

An online bill of the approved application forms will be prepared and the amount will be paid directly to the bank account linked to the beneficiary's Janadhaar through the treasury. The beneficiary's KYC should be complete and the bank account linked to Janadhaar should not be closed. The student should provide his own account number through Janadhaar, otherwise the scholarship amount will go from Janadhaar to the head of the family's account.

Scholarship Approval Process-

The head of the concerned college will match the documents attached to the online application form with the original documents and verify the desired facts and forward it online to the nodal officer of his district, the nodal college, by the prescribed date.

Note:- If the application is cancelled due to any deficiency found in the online application form, the student himself will be responsible.
